Goonies do say diorama

There’s the average adoring Goonie fan, then there is the obsessive fan, like those who created an enormous and detailed GOONIES DIORAMA for the 2014 BRICKCON in Seattle (www.brickcon.org), which won Best in Town. At the event, Virtual LEGO Users Group (VLUG) members from all over the nation and world attend BrickCon to display their masterpieces — built completely out of Lego parts.

How do they do it? Working as a team, each individual claims a section of the project to do, then they all bring or ship the completed sections to the convention and assemble it there, according to Nerdist.com.

The Goonies diorama team consists of 10 people, and includes several moving pieces, Mikey’s and Data’s houses, the wishing well park, a Fratellis jail escape, One-Eyed Willie’s ship, the water slide, booby traps and a lot more.

“It was exciting,” said team member MATT ROUNTREE, at http://tinyurl.com/goondio, “especially that moment before we assembled every portion, thinking that it wouldn’t work. :)”
