Thinking of going to college?
Clatsop Community College is one of 19 locations throughout the state hosting College Night in Oregon from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5. This free, college-planning event will be held in Columbia Hall Room 219 and throughout the second-floor cafeteria on the main campus of CCC at 1651 Lexington Ave. in Astoria. More information can be found at www.collegenights.org
College Night in Oregon, sponsored since 2007 by the Educational Credit Management Corporation, provides practical tips and information for high school seniors, their parents and others in the community who are considering attending college. The evening starts off with free pizza, information tables and registration for a scholarship drawing. Three presentations will follow that focus on choosing the college that is right for you, understanding the financial aid process and searching for scholarships.
The evening ends with a drawing to win one of three $500 scholarships that can be used at the college of your choice. Participants must be present to win.
