Music comes alive in Seaview

SEAVIEW, Wash. — Shelly Short, Michael Hurley and the band Dick Diver are appearing at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sou’wester Lodge, 3728 J Place in Seaview. There is no cost, and the public is welcome.

Folk singer/guitarist/artist Michael Hurley debut album, “First Songs,” was recorded for Folkways Records in 1965. He collaborated with the Holy Modal Rounders and Jesse Colin Young in the 1970s, and his recent recordings have been released on the Gnomonsong label. For information, go to www.snockonews.net
The Australian band Dick Diver was formed in 2008, with guitarists Rupert Edwards and Alistair McKay, drummer Steph Hughes and bassist Al Montfort. Their 2013 album “Calendar Days” was named by The Guardian as the best Australian album of 2013, and was nominated for The Age’s Music Victoria Awards in the category of Best Album and Best Band.
