On Sept. 6, the Astoria Elks Lodge 180 hosted the Northwest District Deputy meeting, comprised of lodges from Astoria, Seaside, Tillamook, Lincoln City, Newport, Florence and St. Helens. Northwest District Vice President Rich Evans, State Trustee Lanny Schultze and District Deputy Linda Cole attended the meeting in addition to 50 Elk members. These meetings offer updates of laws, charitable activities, reports from committees and the opportunity to share ideas on how to serve local communities.
Seaside Elks Lodge 1748 was presented a certificate for participating as an All American Lodge. To qualify for this honor, the lodge members must not only participate in many Elks programs and events, but must also show a significant impact upon their communities.
