Aug. 1 through Aug. 14

Aug. 1

6:08 a.m., 12th Avenue and the Prom: Anonymous report of a vehicle that had been driving on the beach. Officers checked the area, vehicle was gone. It had made it onto the beach but no farther than the dunes.

3:52 p.m., Oceanway: Caller reported man with baseball bat walking down the street making threats. Officers responded.

4:34 p.m., Downtown arcade: Caller reported adult son had wandered off and may be altered. Officer responded to the area to assist. Caller reported son was found.

Aug. 2

12:37 a.m., 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Male reported to officer on the street that another vehicle almost struck his vehicle. Officer checked the area for suspect vehicle, unable to locate.

7:09 a.m., 1100 block of Avenue E: Report of a female who was walking away from her care facility. Officer made contact with her and escorted her back to the facility.

10:06 p.m., Estuary: Multiple complaints of fireworks in the area. Officer contacted subjects and warned them for illegal fireworks.

Aug. 3:

3:43 a.m., Estuary: Officer went out with approximately eight vehicles and people and warned them for unlawful lodging.

9:10 a.m., 200 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Caller requesting officer assistance after allowing transient female to stay in his van, but refusing to leave after she disrespected him, his van and his dog. Officer arrived and contacted both parties. Female exited van and left.

6:29 p.m., 600 block of North Prom: Caller reported what looked like a domestic dispute. Officers responded. Parties were warned of domestic charges should things become physical.

11:25 p.m., 1100 block of North Roosevelt Drive: Caller reporting loud construction noise coming from the parking lot of Nike. Officer arrived and advised the subjects of the noise ordinance. They agreed to cease the power tools for the night.

Aug. 4

7:41 a.m., 300 block of Broadway: Employee called to report theft of services. Officer contacted subject, and another customer paid his tab.

1:45 p.m., 12th Avenue and Wahanna Road: Officer assisted Seaside Fire Department on scene with vehicle fire.

2:05 p.m., 200 block of Broadway: Caller concerned about school-age child made to sit outside Fultano’s holding a pizza box, asking for money, while the parents sat inside eating. Officer arrived, and the family had headed up to the Prom. Officer searched the area, but was unable to locate them.

6:33 p.m., Avenue I and the Prom: 911 caller reporting her and her friend’s bikes had just been stolen on the Prom. Within a few minutes, they were dumped by some trees farther down the Prom. Officers contacted boys, who knew the girls and were playing a prank on them. Boys were warned about disorderly conduct.

Aug. 5

5:10 a.m., 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Employee of Safeway called 911 to report a 7-year-old child alone in the store. Officers contacted the child and returned him home where his mother was advised of consequences for this type of action.

6:42 p.m., U.S. Highway 101 southbound: Caller reported driver weaving within her lane. Officer located vehicle. Driver not intoxicated, chatting with friend whom she had not seen in a long time and was not paying attention to her driving. Driver advised of complaint.

10:17 p.m., 1000 block of South Downing Street: Caller reporting a loud boom. Officers searched the area looking and found the boom to have been generated by illegal fireworks.

Aug. 6

4:39 a.m., 500 block of Avenue U: Caller reporting a person in a corner outside his apartment. Officer arrived and contacted the subject, who needed a cab ride to his home. Cab arrived, and he joined the driver in a ride home.

11:30 a.m., 1900 block of Spruce Drive: Complaint of harassment, provoking a verbal fight or to entice him to break his restraining order.

11:14 p.m., Avenue D and Columbia Street: Report of a male that was lighting grass on fire near a residence. Officer made contact with him. He was advised regarding the burn ban.

Aug. 7

8:49 a.m., 200 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Complaint of a subject smoking marijuana within a white van at McDonalds. Upon officers arrival, vehicle was pulling out of parking lot. Vehicle stopped. Subject checked for medical marijuana card.

9:20 a.m., 200 block of Avenue A: Complaint of male subject acting suspicious, maybe intoxicated. Described as wearing Hawaiian shirt, plaid shorts. Officer responded. Subject was just waiting for bank to open.

3:09 p.m., 1200 block of South Jackson Street: Caller reporting transient camp setting up behind Coast Hardware and Casa del Sol area. Officer located one subject lying down in the grass and advised him of unlawful lodging ordinance. Subject is packing up his belongings and moving on.

Aug. 8

12:36 a.m., Beach Drive and Avenue G: Report of unlawful lodgers in the area, also drinking and being loud. Officers issued warnings for the violations.

3:33 p.m., 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Caller reported woman screaming at her children in the car. Officer responded. Mother was in the store and the children were playing a game that got too loud. No problems.

6:38, Beach: Officer responded to report of a large hole dug in the sand. Public Works was advised to fill in hole, cones put out in the meantime.

Aug. 9

12:36 a.m., Avenue F and Roosevelt Drive: Report of a male lying down on the sidewalk. Officers made contact, subject was intoxicated. He was taken to a sober, responsible person.

6:28 p.m., Turnaround: Officer located developmentally delayed female who had lost her family and with assistance from lifeguards was reunited.

Aug. 10

12:26 p.m., U.S. Highway 101: Caller reported couple with child arguing on the highway. Officers responded and talked to witnesses. Couple gone on arrival.

4:04 p.m., First Avenue: Officer reported man smoking pot and blowing smoke at passersby. Officer responded and warned him of disorderly conduct.

10:37 p.m., Roosevelt Drive: Caller reporting a possible intoxicated driver. Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined the subject was not intoxicated, but a new driver. They were warned of driving issues reported.

Aug. 11

12:46 a.m., Fifth Avenue and the Prom: Officer contacted and warned subject for unlawful lodging.

10:16 a.m., 1900 block of Spruce Drive: Caller reporting verbal disturbance. Officer responded and contacted subjects, who stated persons that were the cause of disturbance had left. Officer later located subjects and advised they were not welcome on property and may be trespassed.

12:31 p.m., Roosevelt Drive and Fourth Avenue: Caller reported two-vehicle accident. Officers responded.

2:55 p.m., Roosevelt Drive and Sixth Avenue: Person reported man running in and out of the street. Officer responded and found subject. Advised to stay out of the street.

Aug. 12

10:27 a.m., 100 block of 10th Avenue: Officer heard and located source of very loud verbal disturbance. Parties contacted and advised to keep it down.

3:01 p.m., 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Caller reported dog in car with only one window cracked. Outside temperature was 60 degrees. Vehicle was gone upon officer’s arrival.

Aug. 13

8:40 a.m., U.S. Highway 101 and Dooley Bridge: Caller advised of a possible transient camp just west of the bridge. Officer arrived and could not locate.

9:26 p.m., Holladay Drive: Anonymous complaint of vehicle driving recklessly in downtown area. Officer was downtown and checked the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle.

11:29 p.m., Lifeguard tower on beach: Report of a person inside the lifeguard tower, shining a laser pen in the area. Officer checked the area, unable to locate the suspect in the area.

Aug. 14

6:11 a.m., 600 block of Broadway: Report of people unlawfully lodging. Officers made contact and the subjects were warned.

12:56 p.m., 2500 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Citizen came in to Seaside Police Department requesting to talk to an officer due to receiving death threats from the Hells Angels via channeling black magic. Officers were on priority calls at the time. Subject stated he would call later if it happened again.

10:15 p.m., 2300 block of South Columbia Street: Anonymous complaint about a female subject screaming and cursing in a backyard. Female was on the phone with boyfriend she was breaking up with.
