I am outraged and disgusted by reading the article on shooting thousands of birds and sea lions because they eat too many of our fish (Bye, bye birds, The Daily Astorian, June 13). And the typical simple answer by our U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Shoot them.

I dont know one person who is worried about having less fish at times. And it might be beneficial, since our polluted river is affecting the health of all fish.

Maybe the Corps of Engineers have an idea how to clean our waterways.
