Three student groups competed in Seaside High Schools annual Rube Goldberg competition. Named after American cartoonist and inventor, a Rube Goldberg machine is deliberately overengineered to perform a simple task in a complex fashion. The winning contraption, consisting of a track, model cars, Legos and ramps, could slap together a sandwich. The winning group consisted of, from left, Andrew Wright, Maqui Walgren, Austin Milliren, Nick Richardson and Sean Wallace.
