A 50th anniversary celebration was held with the family on Jan. 4 for John Richard and Lauren Kaye (Opp) Harms. They were married January 11, 1964, in Bismarck, N.D. The Rev. Alwin Reimnitz performed the ceremony.

The couple has two daughters, Mary Harms-Grebner of Albany and Sheri Harms of Astoria; five grandchildren, Tyler Palek, Heather and Hannah Grebner, and Austin and Ryan Palek; and one great-grandchild, Carter Palek.
