Panache Hair and Nail Studio, a staple in Cannon Beach for the last eight years, recently moved to Astoria.

I want a more regular and stable clientele, said owner Caitlin Saraniero, who wanted to get away from the seasonality of Cannon Beach.

Saraniero, who attended the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis does hair, highlights, coloring and updos at Panache, while her business partner Lauri Lo Hanners focuses on nails.

I do all natural and artificial nail services that means manicures and pedicures, said Hanners, adding that it was Saraniero who encouraged her to attend the Bella Institute of Cosmetology this winter in Portland. My specialty is acrylic nails. I do a lot of 3-D nail art. I can make nails look like Fabergé eggs.

The two operate out of the same building at 261 W. Marine Drive in Suite A, but they keep separate areas for each of their specialties.

Im really comfortable with having men come in and get pedicures, said Hanners, who keeps a private lounge in the business for the service, adding that men can save a lot of money by getting their nails soaked and clipped with her instead of from a podiatrist.

Panache also offers complimentary tea, beer, wine and other beverages to customers and their accompaniment.

Its open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and available by appointment during those and off-business hours. Saraniero can be reached for hair services by calling 503-436-0431, while Hanners can be reached at 503-440-0190 for nail services.
