Linda and Don Matthews of Seaside announce the engagement of their daughter, Brooke Lindsey Matthews of Seaside, to Matthew David English, also of Seaside. He is the son of Barbara Hawkins of Gearhart.

The bride to be is the executive general manager at Seaside Vacation Homes.

The prospective groom is project manager at SMR Construction.

A Sept. 21 wedding is planned at the Astoria Golf and Country Club.
