LONG BEACH, Wash. Boreas Bed and Breakfast Inn claimed for the fifth consecutive year top-five finalist honors in KING 5-televisions Best of the Northwest: Great Getaways contest. Boreas, facing the Pacific Ocean on Washingtons Long Beach Peninsula, is the only inn in the Northwest to receive this distinction.

Were thrilled our guests voted Boreas the top bed and breakfast in the Northwest again this year, said Susie Goldsmith, co-owner and innkeeper. We are going into our eighteenth year of ensuring an exceptional experience for all our guests and couldnt be more pleased with this recognition.

Evening Magazines The Best of the Northwest Escapes profiles regional businesses in 71 vacation, lifestyle and entertainment categories. Online voting started March 28 and closed April 12. Finalists were announced April 30.

Boreas Inn is a five-bedroom property notable for its gourmet breakfasts, welcoming living areas with warming fireplaces, beautiful gardens and tasteful amenities. In Long Beach, it sits on grassy, wind-swept dunes, a short walk on a private path from the Pacific Ocean and near the mouth of the Columbia River. Built in the 1920s, this two-story beach house has been extensively remodeled. Skylights, exterior windows and a glassed-in front room facing the Pacific Ocean have been added. At the same time, a cedar, glass-fronted gazebo, facing the dunes, was built to house a 60-jet hot tub spa, enjoyed privately by couples or solo guests. Each of the five guest rooms is unique and appointed with upscale linens and artful décor. King and queen beds feature hypoallergenic featherbed tops and down comforters.
