Clackamas County will follow through on previous agreements to support the controversial Portland-Milwaukie light rail line.

County chair John Ludlow announced Monday that a judge’s ruling means “in no uncertain terms” that the county has to fulfill its contract with the TriMet transit agency.

Clackamas voters voted in May to block further funding and support for the part of the light rail project south of Portland. TriMet has long argued that the vote would have no bearing on the county’s contractual obligations.

The project is under construction and scheduled to open in September 2015.
