SEASIDE The Sunset Empire Amateur Radio Club will attend the annual American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday in Seaside, just south of Norway Park, along U.S. Highway 101. The public is welcome and encouraged to stop by and learn about amateur radio.

ARRL Field Day is an on-the-air event during which radio amateurs operate radios on emergency power and make as many contacts as possible during a set period of time. They also practice their emergency response capabilities and demonstrate how amateur radio communications might serve in disaster and post-disaster situations.

SEARC will not have a regular business meeting in June, but an informal, no business club meeting will be held for anyone interested at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Room 307, Towler Hall, Clatsop Community College.
