The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash last month on Bradley Hill had four drugs in his system, including methamphetamines.
Toxicology results from Lucas William Brown, 36, of Longview, Wash., released Thursday show the man had methamphetamines, amphetamines, marijuana and lorazepam, a sedative, in his system, when his Volkswagen Jetta crashed into a Mini Cooper on U.S. Highway 30 April 14.
Brown died at the scene.
His son, Noah Waite-Brown, 8, died in the hospital one week later.
Kane Brown, 7, was also a passenger in the vehicle. He was injured and treated at Oregon Health and Science University and released.
Oregon State Police Trooper Jessie Spurlock, who is the lead investigator on the case, said that although they can not determine if Brown was impaired by the drugs found in his system, the driving complaints leading up to the crash as well as the collison are consistent with someone who is impaired, she said.
The two vehicles collided head-on. The accident happened on Highway 30, 13 miles west of Clatskanie.
At 5:36 p.m., Browns Volkswagen crossed a double solid centerline and collided head-on with the Mini driven by Kimberly Anne Sultan, 42, of Astoria. She was traveling in the left westbound lane with Ivan Sultan, 44, Keanu Sultan, 16, and Emily R. Lloyd, 22 months, as passengers.
Kimberly Sultan was treated at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland. Her other passengers were treated at Columbia Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
