Dog sniffs out treasure

It looks like it will be a fabulous weekend for beachcombing and treasure hunting. The EAR found a story on the BBC website about KEN WILMAN, whose dog, MADGE, found a good-size chunk of AMBERGRIS on the beach in England, which is likely worth about $65,000 (http://tinyurl.com/kenamber). Ken and Madge and the ambergris are pictured.
Better known as whale vomit, ambergris apparently smells as bad as it sounds. If your dog pays an interest in something, you pay an interest in it, said Ken. Go and have a look and see what they were sniffing at, because you never know. There’s gold out there on that beach. Floating gold.
And yes, we do have sperm whales in the Pacific Northwest. Taking the dog for a beach walk is definitely on the Ears agenda.
