Portland Fountains A Pleasant Hideaway From City Life
Published 4:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2013
This week, four Portland fountains made it onto the National Register of Historic Places. They were designed in the 1960s by architect Lawrence Halprin.
The Keller Fountain is just outside Keller Auditorium.
The Pettygrove Park Fountain is tucked between high rises on Southwest 1st and Harrison. The Lovejoy Fountain sits behind the Portland Planning Bureau’s offices. And the Source Fountain decorates apartment blocks on Southwest Lincoln.
Kristian Foden-Vencil visited them Thursday and created this audio slide show.
