Shanghaied Roller Dolls presents the New Years Revolution interleague scrimmage

Published 4:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2013

The Shanghaied Roller Dolls (SRD), Clatsop Countys womens roller derby league, will hold an interleague scrimmage-the New Years Revolution- at 6pm on Saturday, January 19 at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds. Admission is $10, and free for children 5 and under. Purchase tickets online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/309331 or pay with cash at the door.

To prepare to compete in this fast-paced contact sport, skaters attend up to 3 weekly practices to refine their skating, hitting, and blocking skills. Coaches, referees, and non-skating officials volunteer countless hours learning and teaching rules and strategies. Local business sponsors have contributed practice space, fundraiser venues, publicity, and more to support the efforts of the league. Since August 2012, the Shanghaied Roller Dolls have hosted 2 sold-out Clatsop County events-the Inaugural Brawl interleague scrimage and the Spanksgiving Smackdown bout with the Gorge Roller Girls- and have competed in bouts in Oregon and Washington.
