SEASIDE Bonnie M. Thompson has joined the executive team at Providence Seaside Hospital as chief operations officer and chief nursing executive.

I am very excited to be a part of Providence and to call the North Coast my home, she said. My husband and I are looking forward to being a part of this community and helping to serve our neighbors.

Thompson is a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. She received her masters of science degree in nursing from Seattle University and a masters in business administration from George Washington University, in Washington, D.C.

In her former medical positions, Thompson served as a critical access and mental health nurse, a family practice provider and an emergency room and mental health nurse practitioner. Most recently, Thompson served as the assistant vice president of organizational excellence at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn.

Bonnies experience as a health care provider and business leader make her the perfect fit for this position, said Tom Corley, interim chief executive for Providence North Coast Service Area. I look forward to working with her in serving our patients at Providence Seaside.

Thompson grew up in a Navy family and has had the experience of living in many different places.
