The Astoria School District is seeking one applicant to serve on the school districts board of directors, Position 4, through June. Previous board member Laura Snyder resigned because of health complications.

Any interested citizen, who has been a resident of the Astoria School District for at least one year, is invited to submit his or her name to Superintendent Craig Hoppes. An application can be downloaded from the districts website, www.astoria.k12.or.us, or picked up from the superintendents office 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 785 Alameda Ave. For information, call 503-325-6441.

Deadline for applications is noon Oct. 5. Applicant interviews will be held at a special meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 in the districts boardroom. The first study session and regular meeting for the newly appointed member will be Oct. 10.
