Vintage car drivers put on a show for seniors in Seaside

Juntunen of Kennewick, Wash., was among drivers of 36 brightly-painted hot rods from Seaside Wheels ‘n’ Waves that paraded by assisted living facilities in Seaside Thursday.
The Senior Cruise, held each year by the show participants, also visited Neawanna by the Sea and ended with a barbecue at Necanicum Village.
Seaside Wheels ‘n’ Waves continues through Sunday with several events open to the public with free admission. The Show and Shine car show on Broadway and surrounding streets will run to 6 p.m. today, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Vendor Alley on Edgewood Avenue will be open today until 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Top hot rod and restoration shops in the Northwest will exhibit vehicles in the Seaside Builders Showcase today to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Vendor Alley and the Seaside Civic and Convention Center.
Also on Saturday, One of a Kind Drumline will perform at noon in the city parking lot; the hot rods will cruise Broadway from 4 to 5 p.m., and a charity benefit dinner, open to the public, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. in the convention center.
Diners can get their pictures taken with the Tow-Mater from the Cars movies.
The annual event featuring show quality vehicles from 1962 and older is sponsored by the Seaside Downtown Development Association.
