At 10 a.m. last Saturday, in a boat off of Seventh Street on the Columbia River, 3-year-old OLIVER STEVENS, who lives out by Cullaby Lake, was jigging for shad when he caught a 36-inch green sturgeon.

Hes pictured, center, with his catch (which was released), his 4-year-old big brother, PARKER, and his grandfather, Astorian DON STEVENS.

Hes really proud of his Batman pole, Don chuckled. How we got the fish into the boat with that pole, I’ll never know.
