June 18, 2012. Salem, Oregon The Oregon Cattlemens Association is pleased to announce that the application period is now open for Teachers on the Range. This innovative program is an opportunity for Oregon teachers to experience the world of ranching up close and first hand on the Durgan Ranch in Paulina, Oregon from August 1-3, 2012. Four teachers will be selected statewide to spend three days on the ranch with all travel, food and accommodations covered for participants.

The goal of the Teachers on the Range program is to allow educators a first hand look at the pasture to plate cycle of ranching. Natural resources stewardship, livestock care and growth cycle, discussions on current issues and challenges for ranching families and innovative solutions being applied on a daily basis will all be a part of the dynamic and interactive experience for selected teachers.
