NEWPORT – Lincoln Community Dispute Resolution (LCDR) is offering a class in basic mediation. This class meets the minimum training requirements for mediators in community dispute resolution programs, and partially meets requirements for court-related mediation. The class also supports those who wish to manage conflict successfully in their personal and business lives.

Carrie Heltzel, who directs the Oregon Office for Community Dispute Resolution at the University of Oregon School of Law, is the lead instructor.

The training will take place June 22-23 and June 29-30 in the classroom at the Visual Arts Center in Newport. The training is free to participants who agree to volunteer with LCDR for two years and will cost $250 for those who do not wish to volunteer. For information or to register for the training call 541-574-9846, or contact James Reim, executive director at 541-961-2133.
