Bob and Cindy Leavens of Medford announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Leavens of Medford, to Brad Johnson Jr. of Roseburg, pictured above. He is the son of Kevin and Judy Johnson of Astoria.

The bride-to-be is a 1996 graduate of South Medford High School. In 2003, she received a bachelors degree from Southern Oregon University, and in 2004, she received her masters degree, also from Southern Oregon University. She is employed by Medford School District as a fifth-grade teacher at Washington Elementary School.

The prospective groom graduated from Astoria High School in 1997 and received a bachelors degree from the University of Oregon in 2001. He is employed by Loomis in Roseburg.

An Oct. 13 wedding is planned in Medford.
