The Association Free Lutheran Bible School choir will be in concert at 11 a.m. Sunday at Bethany Free Lutheran Chuch, 451 34th St. The concert of sacred music, Hallelujah! What a Savior! will include sacred classics, hymn arrangements and energetic spirituals.

The 44-member choir, under the direction of Andrew Hanson, is from the Association Free Lutheran Bible School. The choir tours annually in the U.S., and has made five tours in Europe.

Civil rights under scrutiny

The Pacific Unitarian Universalist Church will hold a service at 11 a.m. Sunday at the First Congregational Church, 820 Alameda Ave. Arline LaMear will deliver a sermon, The Southern Poverty Law Center: Keeping the Promises of the Civil Rights Movement.

The Law Center and its landmark cases, as well as its efforts against hate groups in Oregon, will be discussed.

Arline LaMear will be the facilitator, Ken and Peg Nelson will provide refreshments and Cliff LaMear will be the greeter.

Silent session for Quakers

SEAVIEW, Wash. The Lower Columbia Worship Group of the Society of Friends (Quaker) will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Peninsula Church Center Fireside Room (south building), 5000 N Place, in Seaview. Taize-style worship set

CANNON BEACH Community Presbyterian Church, located at 132 E. Washington St. in Cannon Beach, will hold Taize Worship, a quiet, contemplative, candlelight service of songs and prayers, at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Lutherans to offer takeout

Interfaith session slated

SEASIDE The South County Interfaith Partnership will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pig N Pancake, 323 Broadway in Seaside, to foster better understanding among faith practitioners and to nurture one another in spirit. Registration for preschool

The Second Sunday of Easter will be celebrated at both the 8 and 10 a.m. services Sunday, with the choir singing at the second service, at Grace Episcopal Church, 1545 Franklin Ave. 

The church preschool registration begins Monday. Teachers Denise Allen and Denise Raihala teach classes on weekday mornings: Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 3- and 4-year-old children; and Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for 4- and 5-year-old children.
