From 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, John Jacob Astor Elementary School will host a public barn dance in its gym, capping off a week of community building-American folk dance lessons by Evo Bluestein, an Appalachian-style multinstrumentalist and singer. The public is invited. The dance costs $2 per person. The school is located at 3550 Franklin Ave.
