TILLAMOOK Anderson Florists, a cornerstone of downtown Tillamook for 84 years, is under new ownership.
Robin Faber, who has worked at the store for the past 10 years, bought the floral and gift shop from Tom and Patreece DeNoble.
On Dec. 1, 2011, Robin and her husband, Jesse, became the stores fourth family of owners.
The store was opened in 1927 by the Anderson family. It was owned by the Hooley family for several decades before being purchased by the DeNobles 10 years ago.
The DeNobles became too busy with their farm, so they wanted to offer the business to me and I stepped up, Robin said.
In addition to a variety of custom floral arrangements, the store features a selection of gifts and housewares. Anderson Florists carries ornaments, glassware, candles, cards, blankets, mugs, stuffed animals and more.
Im trying to bring in guy gifts, said Robin, and stuff thats affordable, $20 and under, while still keeping things classy.
The Fabers also are planning to expand the line of goods handcrafted locally. Among the items currently available in the store are prints by local photographer and Tillamook High School student Jarrett Juarez. (Dont let his age fool you Juarezs shots of local beaches and forests are truly suitable for framing.)
Robin said she is excited to keep Anderson Florists a locally-owned, high-quality fixture for downtown.
Anderson Florists is at 202 Main Avenue.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
