TILLAMOOK?- Divine Burger Bistro, an anchor in downtown’s 2nd Street Public Market, recently closed its doors.

“The market is a great location and the product was great, it just came down to the fact that there were changes made too late in the operations and it simply wouldn’t be sustainable, not being owner-operated,” said Justin Aufdermauer, who had volunteered to manage the restaurant owned by his mother, Elaine Faulkner.
Faulkner moved from Tillamook a few months ago to continue her secondary education.
The bistro is up for sale, said Aufdermauer.

“It is slow in the winter months, but sustainable year-round if the owner operates it,” he said.

On a more positive note, Fat Dog Pizza in downtown Tillamook plans to stay open indefinitely, after announcing it would close at the end of December.
“Due to the amazing amount of community support, we have decided we are going to keep Fat Dog Tillamook open,” its owners wrote on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“Though we have taken some low blows over the past year,” they wrote, “we are tapping our resources to continue to not only bring you the same high quality pizza, we will now deliver it to you.”
Fat Dog faced a setback after a former employee was convicted of stealing from the pizza shop and its co-owner, the Alex Hamalian law firm.
Finally, in another piece of good news, the 2nd Street Public Market is getting a new tenant. A new coffee shop is opening in the location of the former Medicine Cabinet Café.
The new shop will be operated by the owners of Tapestry Rose Yarn Annex, which has expanded several times inside the market.
