Blind Pilot seen on David Letterman

Wow! Seaside High School graduate ISRAEL NEBEKER, son of local artist ROYAL NEBEKER and his wife, SARAH, appeared on the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN with the band BLIND PILOT Jan. 6 to promote their new album, “We Are The Tide.”

Pictured, top, Israel at the microphone, and bottom, Israel with Letterman.

Blind Pilot was the last act on the show, and except for a bizarre glitch, during which Letterman referred to the group as Blind Spot (shoot the cue card guy), everything went smoothly.

If you’re not a night owl, and missed their performance, you can see it here: http://tinyurl.com/bpletterman. Be sure to check out the guy playing the organ and trumpet at the same time.

At the end of the song, Letterman enthused, “Fantastic, thank you, sir!” as he leapt onto the stage to shake hands with lead singer Israel, and say a few words to the band.

In parting, out of the blue, Letterman noted, “that’s a nice shirt,” to the singer. “You want a new plaid shirt?”

A second later, a shirt was tossed to Letterman, who handed it to Israel. “Hey, look at that,” Letterman said. “Here you go. Congratulations! I hope you enjoy that.” Penance for flubbing the group’s name? Who knows.
