Economy Forces DoveLewis to Close Lincoln City Location

DoveLewis is closing its Animal Emergency & Urgent Care clinic in Lincoln City Monday.

Ron Morgan is the CEO of DoveLewis and says because of the bad economy the company was projecting losses of $300,000 by the end of June.

“The reality of it, it’s a much needed service, but it just economically wasn’t viable and we’re disappointed to leave it behind, but the main focus for us has to make sure that we as an organization are here in the long run.”

Morgan says that because of the economic slump, some local vets decided to treat their own animal emergencies instead of sending them to DoveLewis.

The clinic was the only 24-hour emergency veterinary facility in the area. The next closest DoveLewis location is in Northwest Portland.
