Kate Marie Helen Smith, daughter of Timothy and Kathi Smith, exchanged wedding vows with Jacob Daniel Krizan at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, on the Riverwalk in Astoria. He is the son of Daniel Krizan and Barbara Darby. They all reside in Astoria.

Judge Cindee Matyas performed the ceremony. The bride, who wore an ivory chiffon beaded gown, was given in marriage by her father. The couple married on the same date that they went on their first date at the Riverwalk.

Maid of honor was Sandra McNaught of Seaside.

Best man was Tom Clark of Albany.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Astoria High School, and attended Clatsop Community College. She is a customer service manager at the North Coast Fred Meyer.

The groom graduated from Astoria High School in 2006, and attended CCC for one year. He is a yard manager at Trails End Recovery in Warrenton.

A reception was held for family and close friends only at the Silver Salmon Grille in Astoria. The parents of the bride will hold another reception at a later date for extended family and friends.

The couple, who reside in Astoria, took a wedding trip to Bremerton, Wash.
