Keep knife handy

On an icy night in December, my husband and I rolled our jeep down a hill on U.S. Highway 30 and landed upside down in the Columbia River. Water was coming in, and we were trapped in our seat belts.
Be aware if you are upside down in a vehicle your body weight will not allow you to unhook your seat belt. The driver behind us had a knife and was able to cut us out of our belts.
Seat belts do save lives, but as a precaution please put a cutting tool within reach in your vehicle. Be safe.
