Ilwaco grad accepted into Coast Guard

NEW LONDON, Conn. Cameo Ulbricht has been accepted into the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and will be sworn in at New London, Conn., June 27. She received a letter from the USCG Academy recognizing her for superior academic achievement, leadership, and potential for her studies at New Mexico Military Institute.
The Academy is by far the smallest of the five military service academies with 400 appointments among the 4,000 applicants each year.
Cadets receive a full tuition scholarship and monthly stipend for a five-year service commitment to the Coast Guard on graduation. All graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree and become a commissioned officer in the USCG.
Ulbricht is a 2010 graduate of Ilwaco High School. She is the daughter of Rick and Ramona Ulbricht of Oysterville and granddaughter of Clem and Vickie Ulbricht of Brewster, Minn.
