Brim’s Farm and Garden to celebrate anniversary with big sale Saturday

On Saturday, Brims Farm and Garden is hosting its 25th Anniversary Sale.

To celebrate, everything in the store will be 20 percent off, said co-owner Linda Brim. Refreshments, door prizes and samples will also be on tap.

Our clientele has grown over the years and we are now serving up to four generations in some families. We are grateful for the community support! Brim said.

Owner Mike Brim opened Brims Farm and Garden in March of 1986 at the present location just one mile south of the old Youngs Bay Bridge in Astoria. Purina Feeds and quality horse hay were the main staples at the time and were soon accompanied by pet supplies, tools, garden supplies, nursery and fencing, Linda Brim said.

Last month a new greenhouse was completed to expand the display of hand-picked plant material they offer to North Coast gardeners. Linda Brim pairs disease resistance with easier-to-grow requirements when making purchasing decisions for the nursery. They offer organic pest and disease controls including slug baits and deer repellants. Brims also offers organic feeds, soils, seeds and herbicides.

We have seen a shift from mostly flowers to more edibles in the nursery and from large animals to more poultry and pet foods in the feed departments, Linda Brim said.

Brims Farm and Garden is located at 34963 U.S. Highway 101 Business in Astoria, and can be reached at (503) 325-1562.
