Quick Suggestion for the Daily Astorian Editors

Dear Editor of the Daily Astorian,

Sorry that I didn’t take the time to look up your name. I have a quick suggestion, that you’re sure to implement pronto.

It’s about the socialness of dailyastorian.com. Unlike Facebook, you don’t have enough pictures of people partying. That’s what the social sites are doing nowadays and you don’t want to be left behind.

I recommend you increase the frequency and quality of “party pix” on dailyastorian.com. If you don’t, the the millennials won’t “get” you. Consequently, they won’t read you, and you’re ad revenue from Bach ‘n’ Rock will plummet. You’ll end up cutting half of your staff, and will have to rely on AP wires to fill your once bountiful pages.

The Charlotte Observer has done a very nice job of integrating cool party pix into their online news site. It’s one of the first things you see on their homepage. And, once you click on it, you are quickly rewarded by images of youngish people at bars:

This is what the people of Astoria want. This is what your advertisers want. This is what Nancy McCarthy wants (i.e., keeping her job). Please deliver it to them.

You’re Welcome,
Warrenton Warrior
