Weddings: Bailey – Groat

Hannah Marie Bailey of Coquille, daughter of Cheryl and Darrell Bailey of Coquille, exchanged wedding vows with Jacob Eugene Groat of Astoria at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at the brides family farm along the banks of the Coquille River in Coquille. The groom is the son of Angela and Mike Fruehling and Earl Groat of Astoria.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Sam Hess officiated. 

The bride wore a strapless Maggie Sottero gown. The service was performed outdoors, and the bridal parties were transported to the wedding site via tractor.

Maid of honor was Macy Major of Coquille. Bridesmaids were Michael Seymour of Astoria, the grooms sister, and Haley Rose and Shelby Jones of Coquille. Flower girls were Madelene Denny of Toutle, Wash., and Lindsey Bailey and Jaden and Keeley Buckman of Coquille.

Best man was Chris Oja of Nebraska, formerly of Astoria. Groomsmen were Seth Bailey of Coquille, the brides brother, Kenny Lackey of Knappa and David Cook of Astoria. Ring bearer was Max Brooks of Texas.

The bride is a 2007 high school graduate in Coquille.

The groom graduated from Jewell High School in 2004.

A reception was  held at the barn on the family farm in Coquille after the wedding. A reception will be held at a later date at the grooms mothers barn.

The honeymoon destination was Steens Mountain in Southeast Oregon.

The couple live in Coquille.
