“The SECOND ANNUAL PET REUNION was held Sept. 19 in Hammond at the Mooring Basin Park,” MARILYN EVERSON wrote to the Ear. “People who have adopted pets from the Clatsop County Animal Shelter are invited to the get-together with their dogs and families. There are contests, games and opportunities to talk to other pet owners. It is so much fun, and lovely to see so many wagging tails and smiling faces.”

“I would like to say a big thank you to the ASTORIA HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND, pictured above, for volunteering to play,” she added. “Braving very windy, cold weather they cheerfully performed for the families and their adopted pets who attended this event, which was sponsored by CLATSOP ANIMAL ASSISTANCE. Everyone enjoyed the music, toes were tapping and laughter could be heard across the park. Thank you for making this a special event.”
