Puppets and more offered at UU Fellowship

Children of all ages are welcome to attend the children’s religious education classes at the Pacific Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Astoria, which is located at 820 Alameda Ave. Classes begin at 11 a.m. Sunday. Projects include working with puppets, starting Sunday, with a new puppet theater. There is a new room divider screen that needs to be painted by young artists.
On Sunday, children will begin in the sanctuary with their parents, where they will participate in lighting the chalice candle. Rev. Patti Pomerantz, from Portland, will be the speaker. She is preparing a sermonette just for the children. After the service, all of the children and their teachers will go downstairs to the social hall, where the children will divide into two groups, one younger and one older. The older class will be participating in community outreach projects which they will choose during the year.
The theme for this year’s classes is “Tolerance.”
