Adeline Mae “Addy” Van Voorhis, 93, of Gearhart, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in Gearhart.

She was born Sept. 24, 1916, in Gilbert, Iowa, to Severin and Celia (Lunde) Anderson.

On Aug. 3, 1936, she married William Van Voorhis in Princeton, Mo.

Mrs. Van Voorhis was a homemaker. She had resided in Seaside and Gearhart since 1971.

She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Seaside.

Family members said she enjoyed quilting, painting, sewing, walking and crafting.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Cook of Gearhart; three sons, Charles Van Voorhis of Story City, Iowa, Rodger Van Voorhis of Ames, Iowa, and Bervine Van Voorhis of La Pine; three sisters, Florence Green of Adele, Iowa, Delores Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Margie Burris of Kanawha, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers.

An inurnment service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 29 at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
