Patricia Raye “Pat” Samuelson, 85, of Astoria, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in Astoria.

She was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Portland, to Samual P. Harris and Raye E. Thornton.
She graduated from Boise State University.
In June 1949, she married Melvin M. Samuelson in Portland. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Samuelson worked as a clerk in the Clatsop County tax office. She lived in the Clatsop County area for 61 years, and in Jewell for 36 years.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and was involved with the Cub Scouts and 4-H.
Family members said she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and bingo. She was a Portland Trail Blazers fan.
She is survived by two sons, Philip Samuelson and his companion, Virginia Chase, and Dave Samuelson and his wife, Ann, all of Jewell; six grandchildren and their families, Leland Samuelson of Hillsboro, Matthew Samuelson of Elsie, Jesse Samuelson of Jewell, Kristin and Sarah Samuelson of Beaverton and Jason Irving; six great-grandchildren, Katie, Jack and Henry Samuelson, Keegan McCleary and Arabis and Emory Irving; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Ray Samuelson; and a foster son, Donald Irving.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25 at Hughes-Ransom Cremation & Mortuaries, 576 12th St.
