“It’s been quite the adventure, road-tripping 3,000 some miles from Pennsylvania to Astoria and then back again,” Goonie/Astoria fan JAESON KOSZARSKY wrote to the Ear. He and his wife, JENNIFER, made the pilgrimage to celebrate their fifth, and the Goonies 25th, anniversary.

“I ran over to The Daily Astorian office to pick up some copies of your special Goonies publication that BRANDY STEWART saved for us,” Jaeson wrote. “She helped me with a special fifth Goonie wedding anniversary message that appears on Page 4. In 2005, we renewed our wedding vows in the Goonies house with SEAN ASTIN serving as a witness.”

Friday night, they met JOEY PANTOLIANO at the VIP dinner, and SANDI PRESTON, owner of the Goonie house, who also attended their 2005 Goonie wedding. Jaeson described the red carpet event at the Liberty theater as “quite literally a Hollywood block-buster occasion in downtown Astoria.”

“We attended both Saturday and Sunday meet and greets, and were able to gather signatures from everyone,” Jaeson wrote. “I put together a Goonie wedding video with a nice DVD case and we had everyone sign it. As Monday evening approached, we decided to see the Goonies one more time on the big screen. We enjoyed some great pizza and a Truffle Shuffle Stout in the balcony at Columbian Theater.”

“You won’t find a gorgonzola pizza with salmon in State College, Penn.,” he noted.

“One of our last stops before leaving Astoria was a visit to the Tillicum House (KMUN),” he added. “CAROL NEWMAN was so excited to see us that she pulled us into the studio for a brief interview, a pretty cool conclusion to our Astoria visit. Everyone involved in putting on this event was really fantastic. A big Goonie thank you to all!”
