Letter: Goonies success

Published 5:00 pm Sunday, June 13, 2010

I don’t know if anybody noticed, but boy, oh boy, there were a lot of Goonie fans around Astoria this last weekend.

I, for one, know that most of the thanks and credit should go to Regina Willkie of the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce, her staff, family and volunteers for pulling this event off so successfully.

She literally put her heart and soul into this project and the business community, especially, should be thankful for the increased revenue they received.

I’m positive the visitors to our area left Astoria with stomachs full of our great food, purses full of souvenirs, cameras full of pictures and memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you, Regina, Skip Hauke, Mac Burns and Rosemary Baker-Monaghan for a job well done.
