Paul and Susan Brost of Seaview, Wash., and Paul and Jo Gillum of Astoria announce the engagement of Laura Brost of Canon City, Colo., and James Gillum of Colorado Springs, Colo.

The bride-to-be graduated from Astoria High School with honors in 2009. She is employed by Royal Gorge.

The prospective groom is a 2006 graduate of Astoria High School. He is in the U.S. Army Fourth Infantry Division, Headquarters and Headquarters Company.

An August wedding is planned.
