The Purple Pig Bake Sale and Event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Astoria Transit Center, 900 Marine Drive. There will also be activities for children, a weekend getaway raffle and a Smooch the Pig Contest. Helping with the event will be John Chapman from 9-4-9 Music Matters and the new MY 99.7.
For the Smooch the Pig Contest, donate towards Skip Hauke of the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce, Cindy Howe of the Sunset Empire Transportation District or Deborah Boone, Oregon State Representative, District 32 before 2 p.m. Wednesday. All donations from this fundraising event will go to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, supporting cancer research to find a cure.
Drop locations for donations are: the Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce, Astoria Transit Center and Clatsop Community Bank in Seaside and Astoria. Whoever winds up with the most money, Hauke, Howe or Boone, must smooch the pig.
