Preservation society to feature presentation on Colorado community

The Lower Columbia Preservation Society will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the new Clatsop Community College Columbia Hall, in the Community Room, on the northwest corner of the second floor. Pam Chestnut will give a PowerPoint program on her visit to Leadville, Colo., featuring old and new photographs of this legendary boom and bust mining town.

After earning a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in liberal studies from Humboldt State University in 2005, Chestnut received certification in the two-year Historic Preservation and Restoration Program at College of the Redwoods in Eureka, Calif. In 2009, she won an Elisabeth Potter Historic Preservation Advocacy & Education Award enabling her attendance at the Preservation Trades Network workshop and education symposium in Leadville.
