Traffic accidents? At 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oregon State Police cited Bryce Allen Isle, 46, of Seaside for careless driving and driving uninsured, after his red 1997 Ford Escort crashed into the back of a red 2003 Dodge pickup that had stopped in traffic on U.S. Highway 101 in Warrenton, just north of Turley Lane, to make a left turn. The driver of the pickup was Robert Keith Niemi, 39, of Astoria. Neither driver was injured.
? At 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, OSP responded to a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 101 near Anderson Road. According to OSP, Kelly Ann Klein, 48, of Kelso, Wash., lost control of her gray 2004 Jeep Cherokee for an unknown reason as she headed south. The Jeep ran off the road, went down an embankment and came to rest on its side. Klein was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital by Medix Ambulance Service to be treated for unspecified injuries.
Stolen car? At 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, Oregon State Police stopped a 2009 Dodge Caliber on U.S. Highway 26 in Jewell that was traveling 78 mph in a 55 mph zone and discovered it was a rental car that was listed as stolen. The car was towed and its two occupants were taken to Seaside so they could arrange travel to their homes. The person who rented the car, Brian James Whittaker, of Wilsonville, was not in the car. The case was referred to the District Attorney’s office.
Disturbance? At 8:31 a.m. Tuesday, Astoria police responded to a disturbance at Fourth Street and Nehalem Avenue and arrested Jeffrey Allen Edwards, 23, of 857 Florence Ave., Astoria, for second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass.
Vandalism? At 7:17 a.m. Tuesday, Astoria police responded to the 1000 block of Franklin Avenue, where two tires had been slashed overnight on a parked car. It was the first of several reports of slashed tires in the area.
