NASELLE, Wash. – The article on the Naselle softball team in the special sports section published Friday needs some clarification.

The Naselle softball team competed in the 1998 and 1999 slow pitch state tournaments. In 1998, they lost to Springdale 20-7, beat Republic 10-9 in nine innings and lost to Napavine 24-8 in Yakima. In 1999, they lost to Republic 6-5 and to Odessa 9-4 in Spokane.

Since the state adopted fast pitch rules for 2B teams in 2002, Naselle has not been to state.

The Comets are shooting for one of only three berths to the state tournament this season.
