OK, get out your binoculars – it’s WHALE WATCHING time from March 20 to 27. Trained volunteers at 26 “Whale Watching Spoken Here” sites will help visitors spot gray whales from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the annual migrations.

The spots closest to the North Coast to watch from are: Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Ilwaco, Wash., Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach, the Neahkahnie Mountain Historic Marker Turnout on Highway 101 and Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint in Netarts.

Daily whale counts are available from the Whale Watching Center in Depoe Bay at (http://home.centurytel.net/thewhaleguy), and maps of the viewpoints and whale watching tips can be found at (www.whalespoken.org)
