On Tuesday, the Astoria High School student body and staff will be celebrating “Chance Banta Day” in honor of the AHS junior for becoming the school’s first state champion in wrestling. 

There will be an all-school assembly in honor of Banta in the afternoon, special Chance Banta buttons and T-shirts worn by students and staff throughout the day and a reception that evening at Mr. Fultano’s Pizzeria to help celebrate his accomplishment. 

Community members, alumni and supporters of AHS are welcome to attend the afternoon assembly which will begin at approximately 1:20 p.m. in the AHS auditorium and to the reception at Mr. Fultano’s Pizzeria which will begin at 6:30 p.m.
