The 2010 Astoria Youth Baseball Camp is scheduled for Saturday.

All Cal Ripkin Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball players are welcome to attend the camp, which will take place at the Astoria batting cage facility, Astoria High School and Ernie Aiken Field.

Instructors will be Astoria High School coaching staff and players. Two large groups will be created: Older/Advanced and Younger/ Novice.

Smaller teams will be created within these groups.

The camp will be conducted in two sessions.

Session 1 (11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m): Young/Novice Defense and Older/Advanced Offense.

Session 2 (2:15 to 4:15 p.m.): Young/Novice Offense and Older/Advanced Defense.

Cost is $40, with checks made payable to Astoria Ford Junior Baseball.

Registration is Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the high school’s new auxillary gym. Players should bring a mitt, tennis shoes, bat (if available), and should prepare for weather.
